With his growing years spent in the cities of Hyderabad, Agra, and Delhi, now settled in Mumbai, the versatile experiences he gathered have shaped the rich music sojourn he has enjoyed till date.
Madhav's formal training is comprehensive, with a Master's in Indian Vocals and a Piano Diploma from Trinity College London. He trained under the tutelage of illustrious gurus such as Pt. Sadanand Brahmbhatt, Pt. Umesh Kampoowale, and the late Pt. Sarathi Chatterjee. Such intensive training has enabled him to master a vast array of styles, ranging from Khayal, Ghazal, Thumri, Bhajan, and Bollywood music, and be able to blend tradition with modern influences effortlessly.
Having more than a decade and a half of performance background, Madhav has enthralled concert audiences all over India and abroad. His passion for music is deeply derived from the "Guru Shishya Parampara," which translates into the authenticity and soulfulness of his performance. He sings in addition to playing a variety of instruments such as acoustic guitar, harmonium, melodica, cajon, djembe, drums, and other percussions, reflecting his multidimensional musical ability.
Madhav is also enthusiastic about music education, motivating students around the world through his community outreach program, JOY 365, which promotes daily learning of Indian vocals. He has instructed music analysis and solo performance in overseas schools, spreading his music expertise and passion with budding artists.
His song "Teri Bandagi Ishq Hain" earned him a Best Male Singer nomination at the IIMA Awards, demonstrating his increasing presence in the music world. He is currently preparing to release his first album, assuring listeners a deeper insight into his work. With his poignant music and commitment, AB Madhav is continuing to leave an indelible mark on the Indian music scene.
