Agnya was formed by Santosh Jayaram and Amrit Kapoor in 2010. Santosh, a seasoned Classical Vocalist and Veena player, and Amrit, a Blues Guitarist, had their first few jams in a small garage studio and instantly got along. They ran into renowned metalheads Gurdip Singh Narang of Gutslit, Mayank Sharma of Zygnema and Atmosfear and the band took to form a sound that was diverse and yet unique. At the band’s core is the desire to collaborate and create heart-felt melodies inspired by their varied individual musical backgrounds. The result is a melting pot of genres, sounds & influences from all across the musical spectrum.
