Amaan Chandra is an Indian vocalist, composer, and performer appreciated for his flexibility and engaging on-stage performance. Born in Allahabad (renamed as Prayagraj) on 8 February 1995, he grew up in an abounding music scene from an early age. Amaan's father, Pandit Vijay Chandra, is a prominent soloist for playing Indian classical ragas on the electronic synthesizer keyboard, which is quite a novel and ambitious project in classical music. The music environment influenced by his father made a very great impact on Amaan's affinity for music.
Guided by his father, Amaan began his musical career, learning both the vocal art and the synthesizer keyboard. He finished the "Prabhakar" course of Prayag Sangit Samiti in both vocal and instrumental music, demonstrating his zeal and expertise. His late grandmother, Maina Devi, a well-known folk Kajri and Bhojpuri singer, enriched his musical heritage further.
Amaan's repertoire includes singing and instrumentation. He is linked to the Darbari Gharana of Banaras, signifying a profound reverence for classic Indian music. In 2018, he performed in more than 450 events in India as a solo act and also as part of his band, ANDROID THE BAND. His duet performances with other Bollywood stars like Himesh Reshammiya, Mika, Atif Aslam, and Shafaqat Amanat Ali mark his versatility within different music genres.
Aside from performing, Amaan is a budding music and video director and a passionate music teacher. He has a master's degree in vocal music and has also started his own production house, where he works on original songs and cover versions. His passion for developing new talent and giving back to the music industry is reflected in his diversified career.
Amaan is constantly active on social media sites, connecting with an increasing number of admirers. His path from a musically affluent childhood to a professional musician is a testament to his zeal, sincerity, and valuable contributions to India's music scene.
