Avirup Das, popularly known as Bunty’s Percussion, is a new-age multipercussionist from Kolkata. He plays drums, congas, timbale, djembe, cajon, darbuka, talking drum and kanjira as well as many more. Bunty started drumming at the tender age of 8. His journey started under the tutelage of his father, Amit Das (a former percussionist). Trilok Gurtu and Anandan Sivamani had been his idols since childhood. Later, he took training from Jay 'Tutul' Bhattacharya, who has had an immense impact on his life. Latin Percussionist (late*) Monojit 'kochu' Dutta also imparted his knowledge on Bunty. He is one of the founder members of the renowned Bengali folk band Fakira. In the years 2013 and 2014, Bunty has made foreign musical tours with his band Fakira, respectively, to the USA and Bangladesh. He shared his stage with Pt. Tanmay Bose (TAALTANTRA) and Pt. Subhen Chatterjee (BANDISH FUSION). He performed across some other Bengali TV channels of India like ‘Sangeet Bangla', Zee Bangla, ‘Tara MuZik', Rupashi Bangla, Akash Bngla, etc. And also covered by many media’s like ABP Ananda,24 Ghanta, Kolkata Tv.
