Deeksha Toor, 1994 born, is a sensational diva and a new rising star in the world of Hindustani music. While still at school she catapulted into prominence recently when she made it to the final round of “TOP 10” of the “INDIAN IDOL 6” in Sony Channel. Deeksha has been immensely popular in the capital for her devotional and folk repertoire. In fact, she is the most sought after singer for the people of recording world. She continues to be a live-wire in the concerts and stage shows as she has been gifted with an outstanding range and a mellifluous voice that reverberates in listener’s ears long after. She has always been appreciated profusely for her soulful rendition’s of Ghazals and greets by the connoisseurs of music.

Deeksha has been getting guidance and training in her musical pursuits through her father Shri Piyush Raj, who is a well-known virtuoso singer from Himachal Pradesh, who is a disciple of famous Guru Shri L.K.Pandit ji of “Gwalior Gharana”. She has inherited not only the melodic niche of her father but has also acquired the prolificacy of a modern pop-singer. Her innate quality to be a celebrity singer was sighted at the tender age of five when she got her first recording contract to sing for children’s serial. Till now, she has got around 523 recorded songs up her sleeves which includes some jingles and remixes too. For a Girl who has just finished her schooling, the list of her musical achievements is amazingly phenomenal.

As a promising kid she recorded 3 title tracks for the TV Channel “Anjan TV” and later sang some numbers for T-Series also. The Theme song sung by Deeksha for a Telefilm on Kashmir “Thandi Hawayein” won lots of accolades. She sang a melodious number for a documentary film on “Save Tigers” project. Recently she has added feather to her cap by singing a remix of Asha Bhosle.

In 2005, She was adjudged a Best singer in South Delhi in Music contest organized by SATMOLA. At the age of 12, she won 1st prize in a TV Show contest “Little Stars” on DD Bharti Channel. Then at the age of 13, she was adjudged “Best Singer” in a show “Honhaar” on “Total TV” channel. Next year in 2008 she played the role of a young anchor in the same show “Honhaar 2” televised on Sadhana Channel. In 2006, she got the 1st prize in yet another prestigious contest organized by "Geetanjali Kala Parv" in the capital. In 2009, she bagged the 1st prize in Delhi Region in “SUR-TARANG” Contest organized by Sangam Kala Group, in film category, In 2011, she was among the “Top 24” talents selected from all over India in a TV show called “X-FACTOR”.

Year 2012 had been very challenging for the young diva Deeksha Toor. On the one hand she had to appear in her final Board’s exams and on the other she had to face the selections for “INDIAN IDOL 6” of Sony channel. She excelled on both the fronts by passing out of school with a flying color and making it to the “Top 10” positions in “Indian Idol 6”. She is pursuing a career in Music now. For a God- gifted singer like Deeksha Toor, perhaps Sky is the only limit.
