Hargun Kaur is an Indian musician, songwriter, and singer who has a versatile voice and a very distinctive mix of contemporary and classical music styles. Born on May 1, 1996, in Amritsar, Punjab, Hargun developed her passion for music at an early age, and she started singing when she was three years old. Her love for music intensified as she experimented with different types of music, ranging from Sufi, folk, Western, and devotional music, and her capacity to imbibe and flourish in diverse genres. She followed her music education at Guru Nanak Dev University and then obtained her Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Music from Mumbai University. She is presently furthering her studies with a Ph.D. in Music, which speaks to her strong desire to master her profession and understand the nuances of musical traditions.
Hargun made a national name for herself through her performances in high-profile singing shows. She was a runner-up on shows such as India's Got Talent Season 5, The Voice on Star Plus, and Voice of Punjab on PTC Punjabi. Through these shows, she established a strong following and became a potential star in the music industry.
Besides her stage shows and TV appearances, Hargun entered playback singing with her debut Marathi song "Naate He Konte" for Triple Seat, exhibiting her skill of singing in any language and increasing her musical portfolio.
Her skill has been recognized with a number of awards, including the SurJyotsna Award and the State Award for excellence in music given by the Punjab Government. With her compelling stage presence and emotive voice, Hargun remains a captivating performer, mending her commitment to traditional music with a modern edge. She is still an inspiration to would-be musicians and an honored figure among Indian musicians.
