Mahesh Kale is an accomplished vocalist of the new generation with a captivating stage presence, that has along with his uncommon musicality and vocal dexterity, positioned him firmly on the national and international radar of the North Indian Classical Music community. After winning the 63rd National Film award for his maiden film "Katyar Kaljat Ghusli", he has become an inspiration for today's youth. His training under this doyen of music has not only made him a brilliant Hindustani classical singer, but has also made him equally proficient in thumri, tappa, bhajans, bhaavgeet, and natyasangeet. Mahesh has performed in prestigious concerts all over India and USA as well as in UAE and UK. He has also appeared on television and radio. He gives lecture demonstrations in various US universities (including Stanford and Harvard University) and was also profiled as Artist of the Month by Harvard Sangeet in March 2008.

In an effort to preserve and promote this art, Mahesh also maintains an open outlook towards the evolution of music such that he can reach out to the new generation, while retaining the traditions handed down to him through his rigorous taleem. He has also performed with world famous percussionists like Zakir Hussain, Trilok Gurtu and Sivamani in fusion concerts, ably demonstrating his versatility as a composer and singer.

Mahesh is also a teacher and inspiration for a motivated student body of over a 150 students in the San Francisco Bay Area.
