Mukul Sharma (14 August 1949 – 1 March 2019) was a versatile Indian writer, journalist, and filmmaker. In addition to his thoughtful sometimes incisive columns, articles, and pieces he has received accolades that have spanned subjects from science and technology to cinema and culture. Sharma's own writing is marked by the clarity of thought, humor, and ability to clarify complicated ideas in simple prose. He wrote for some of the most respected newspapers and journals, entrancing readers with his elaborate analyses and original perspectives.

Articles weren't the only literary contributions from Sharma. Being an effective narrator, some of his short stories were simply shot in films. And now Sharma will sadly and bitterly miss 2019 leaving Indian literature and journalism alone with this memory; what will continue in memory though will be the readings or writings of him alive as thought and action across several minds and papers.
