Rahul Suntah is a Mauritian composer, pianist, and music producer who has a very distinctive way of creating piano music. Born on June 6, 1997, in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius, he was drawn into music at an early age and started playing the piano when he was eight years old. He learned piano and music theory at the Frederic Chopin Conservatory of Music in Mauritius under formal tutelage for a number of years.
Rahul went to the United Kingdom in 2016 to continue his music education. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Audio and Music Technology from the University of the West of England and a Master's degree in Composition for Film and Television from the University of Bristol. His education in music composition and music technology has been instrumental in informing his distinctive sound, which combines the classical piano skills with the electronic innovations of today. Rahul made a name for himself on social media websites, where he posted his creative piano covers and original works. His playing includes experimental techniques, live-looping, and blending of cinematic, electronic, and pop music styles. His performances have gone viral, garnering millions of views and global acclaim from music fans all over the world.
His first piece, Paradise Island, appeared as a spotlight track on BBC Music Introducing and was placed among the top tracks of 2021. He is also featured on other media outlets, such as BBC, ITV, Classic FM, and Pianist Magazine.
Rahul played in iconic spaces in 2022, such as Manchester Cathedral, and had solo performances in London and Bristol. His inaugural solo concert in Mauritius in 2024 was sold out, demonstrating his increasing popularity.
