ReQuest Dance Crew is an all-female hip-hop dance crew, based in Auckland, New Zealand. Choreographer Parris Goebel founded the crew, along with four of her friends, in 2007. ReQuest's crew quickly rose to the top of the dance world. ReQuest is affiliated with The Palace Dance Studio, which is located in Penrose. It is one of New Zealand's best dance centers. It is part of The Royal Family—a collective of crews at the studio—wherein it shares its space with notable groups such as Kingsmen, Sorority, Duchesses, and Bubblegum.
The crew has been remarkable in performances both globally and especially in most competitions, including the World Hip Hop Dance Championships. In 2009, they emerged victorious in the Varsity Crews division, whereas in 2010, they took the Adults Crew category. Such victories established ReQuest at the top level of competitive dance.
Beyond competitions, ReQuest's influence has extended beyond pop cultures. Their high-energy choreography caught the attention of a global superstar: Jennifer Lopez, who featured them in the music video for her hit single "Goin' In." Such exposure gave the crew an increased profile, where they are able to showcase their style across a much wider demographic base.
Visionary Parris Goebel of ReQuest has also walked through the doors of success as a choreographer and creative director for international artists like Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj. The signature styles the crew hits on and carries-hints of fierce precision, a strong sense of unity-spike inspiration and influence among the next generation of dancers, in New Zealand and around the globe. ReQuest Dance Crew is the most iconic notion in the discipline of hip-hop and its elegance and artistry on the global platform.
