Shades of Retribution, a mighty folk death metal five-piece band hails from the historic and culturally vibrant state of Dibrugarh in Assam, East India. Conceived in the year 2010, they have brought in a smooth confluence of the old-school style of death/thrash with the vibrant legacy of Northeastern India, so rich in traditions in Assamese culture. So, they stood out to craft a separate and unique identity as a distinct contribution to the overall metal landscape.
Their music is a compelling mixture of heavy guitar riffs, thunderous drums, and traditional folk percussion with an intense cultural resonance. Drawn from classic thrash and death metal bands and yet grounded within their Assamese roots, their sound could be said to be both innovatively original yet authentically true to tradition.
