Sushmita Sen is a reputed Indian actress, model, and beauty. In 1994, she created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win the crown of Miss Universe. She was born on November 19, 1975, in Hyderabad, India, into a Bengali family and was brought up in a disciplined military background. Winning the Miss Universe pageant cocked open the doors for her to glide instantly into Bollywood, where she emerged almost overnight as a star because of her winning charm, intelligence, and striking presence.
Her debut in Bollywood took place with Dastak in 1996. Her real success came with Biwi No. 1 (1999), in which she co-starred with Salman Khan, where she received her first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. Over the decade, Sushmita notched up hits such as Sirf Tum (1999), Main Hoon Na (2004), Aankhen (2002), and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005). Her on-screen charisma coupled with her unusual personality made her cut through a very competitive industry.
Otherwise known for her versatility and independence, Sushmita is admired for making bold lifestyle changes. In 2000, she adopted Renee as her first child, and in 2010, she adopted Alisah. People praised and admired her petite but awesome decision to become a single mother in her twenties.
Sushmita made a spectacular comeback to silver screen magic after a minor hiatus through the web series Aarya (2020), which became a critical favourite right away when it began making waves. The strong mother entangled in crime and whose life is torn apart by that crime resonated well with the audience, making it a winner for Sushmita and raking in several awards for her. This series was an impressive debut for her in the digital arena.
Sushmita is a fitness freak and a lot more in life as a motivational entity. How she lives, what she believes in, and how she deals with most things she speaks about with great detail on social media, which inspires many through words and actions.
