The Funk Band is one of the first bands in Hyderabad to start off as a dedicated Funk Band. Currently, the band is working on its own compositions. The band mainly consists of 4 members: Edla Emmanuel (vocals), Richard Madella (bass), Solomon Raj (drums), Ricky Raymond (guitar), and Makka Amit, who helps the band whenever he's in the country. Edla Emmanuel (Vocals/keys) From singing smooth classics to heavy grunge roars, Edla Emmanuel has been one of the very few certified Rock and pop vocalists this city can showcase. Being a graduate in vocals (Grade 8) from Trinity college of Music-London, he's got the experience as a teacher by working in many schools with international standards. With an amazing vocal range, this versatile vocalist has been the frontman for many of the leading rockbands in the city.His techniques and style have been one of a kind that have set him apart as a promising vocalist to deliver a power-packed performance. Solomon Raj-Solomon is one of the most versatile drummers this city has got to offer.Solomon has been playing for many bands and has been touring the country with the band he is currently playing for, Last Bridge. He is known for his improvisation and has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. With his amazing drumming skills and dynamics, he fills in his rolls sounding full and tight. Richard Madella: With a unique technique slapping the four string, Richard stands out as one of the best bass guitarists in the city. He has been playing with a lot of bands and has gained a lot of experience at a very young age. With his funky basslines, he sets the groove that captivates you and takes you for a ride into a whole new level of funk. His unique technique of slapping the bass sets him apart, and his sense of harmony has made him a brilliant musician. He is the one who lays the foundation of the songs with his funked-up groovy basslines that give a whole new meaning and flavour to the song. Makka Amit—Gear up! for one of the most versatile guitarist of the city . With his style and speed, he sets the stage on fire . From playing classics to shredding, fingerpicking to playing jazzy grooves, his versatility has been this strength to help him play for various bands in the city. Makka Amit has worked with many artists and helped in the composition of a number of albums.He has always been praised for the technical work he does.His sense of sound showcases his brilliant work on his guitar patches, making ti sound full of life. Makka Amit is currently staying in New Zealand, completing his studies. So he's with the band whenever he comes down to India. Ricky Raymond: As one of the youngest guitarists in the rock scene, Ricky has been playing with the top bands in the city. Having experience with big bands like Judgment Day and Paradox Pulse, he's set to give a different twist at What The Funk. Expolring his funky side with groovy rhythms, Ricky fills up the songs, giving them a new sense of direction.
